What is it used for?
The dyno isn't only for measuring power. We use the latest real-time fuel analysis to custom-write fuelling maps for injected bikes as well as using it to cut down times when diagnosing faults on any bike, which will help lower costs.
Most modern fuel-injected bikes can be jerky at low throttle and often have an on-off feel to the throttle which a custom fuel map can cure, as well as producing more power and torque.
How does it work?
Often, manufacturers set fuel systems to meet certain criteria such as climate and emissions regulations. These vary worldwide, therefore this may not be the best fuel delivery set-up for the bike.
Climate affects the power output of your bike to quite a large degree, which is why sometimes you'll notice it is going well one day and feels a bit rough the next.
Fitting different exhausts or air filters will also upset the fuel system and can cause an engine to run 'lean'. The free-flowing nature of the new exhaust or air filter means there may not be enough fuel reaching the engine. This can result in a loss of power and response, jerky running and damage to components such as exhaust valves.
